RS Module
This package contains:
A
master switch that can be mounted in a standard
electrical box.
A
white face plate.
The RS Module requires an LC-II
Control Switch to control the window and/or
skylight motors. If you don't already have an LC-II
Control Switch it must be ordered as a separate
item (LC-II
Control Switch) or as a kit (LC-II
Control Switch Kit).
The RS Module provides a master (common) wired
remote switch for use with an LC-II
Control Switch. It can be used with a single
LC-II
Control Switch or it can be used to centralize
the control of multiple
LC-II
Control Switches
in applications where you want to control more than
three windows with a single push button. Like the
IR Receiver it
can be used with up to 25 LC-II
Control Switches to operate up to 75 windows
and/or skylights. It also has a Rain
Sensor input.
To see how an RS Module integrates with all of our
other components to form a complete system for motorizing
your casement, awning, and skylight windows, take
a look our wiring diagram.
It should give you a basic guideline for planning
and creating your own motorized window and skylight
system. |

RS Module Installation Instructions
You can download
the RS Module Installation Instructions (445KB) to
familiarize yourself with the RS Module installation.
The installation instructions are in Adobe PDF format and
require Adobe's free Acrobat Reader. If you don't have Acrobat Reader
you can download
it from Adobe's website.
Up to 25 LC-II Control Switches
can be controlled from a single RS Module. However, the LC-II
Control Switches are not controlled individually. In
addition, more than one RS Module may be used to control
one or more LC-II Control
Switches. Note: An LC-II
Control Switch can still be used for localized control
even when it is controlled by an RS Module.
Step 1 - Gather your Tools
- #2 Philips head screwdriver
- 1/10" (2.5 mm) bladed screwdriver
- Class II, low voltage wire for the switches
- An assortment of wire nuts
Step 2 - Run Electrical Wires
- Use Class II wire for all connections. Run low voltage
wires at least 12" away from high voltage wires to
avoid any electrical interference.
- Run two (2) power wires from either a transformer or
an LC-II
Control Switch
to the RS Module. Stranded
wire is recommended for all power connections.
- Run three (3) control wires (Open, Close, and Ground)
between the RS Module and the LC-II
Control Switch.
Step 3 - Connect Wires
- Connect the RS Module per the wiring
diagram and the RS Module Connectors table below.
- Mount the RS Module in a single gang electrical box.
